Continuing in our series of equipment you may not know is available for rent, our next installment is a piece of equipment that was custom created for the LGH rental fleet. The 16-point collector ring was added into our fleet in the middle of 2016 to address struggles with suitable rigging for lifting large domes and circular tanks.
Carrying a capacity rating of 150-tons and weighing in at 2,500 pounds, these unique devices provide an easy means of lifting larger and difficult loads in a level fashion while dramatically cutting down on the rigging headroom that would be required for more traditional rigging methods.
Rentals for LGH collector rings come equipped with all slings and shackles included and customized to each specific project. By customizing the rigging to suit each load, the collector rings ensure the load is equalized prior to lifting.
When these were initially added into our fleet, it was in response to a request from one of our customers. This customer was looking to complete a special project, setting a dome atop an existing structure. Following the success of that project, seeing the potential for similar uses, LGH had additional units created for our fleet.
Take a look at the collector ring in action on one of our customers’ job sites below and consider some of the ways you can utilize this piece of equipment on some of your projects. Now that you know something like this exists, it’s just a matter of finding the right project to incorporate a new tool to your arsenal.
